How We Calculate Your Subscription Fee

When you register with Verified Carrier, you’ll be asked to provide the number of power units in your fleet. Additionally, we reference publicly available records from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), which list the number of power units associated with your Motor Carrier (MC) number.

To ensure consistency and transparency, your subscription fee is based on the higher of these two numbers—either your self-reported fleet size or the FMCSA-recorded fleet size.

Example:

  • Self-reported fleet size: 10 power units

  • FMCSA-recorded fleet size: 15 power units

  • Subscription fee: Based on 15 power units

This approach ensures a level playing field across the industry, regardless of how fleet size is reported.

Why We Charge This Way

Our mission is to promote transparency and trust in the freight industry. Basing subscription costs on the higher of the two reported fleet sizes encourages carriers to keep their FMCSA records up-to-date.

Benefits of Accurate FMCSA Records:

  1. Industry Transparency: Clear and accurate data helps reduce fraud and ensures fair competition.

  2. Operational Clarity: Up-to-date records reflect your business accurately, which can improve trust with brokers and other partners.

  3. Cost Optimization: By updating FMCSA records to reflect the current size of your fleet, you can ensure your Verified Carrier subscription reflects your actual operations.

How to Update Your Subscription

We understand that fleet sizes change over time. If your FMCSA records or self-reported fleet size has been updated, you can adjust your subscription directly through your Verified Carrier account.

Steps to Update Your Subscription:

  1. Log in to your Verified Carrier account.

  2. Navigate to the “Subscription Settings” section.

  3. Update your fleet size if applicable and ensure it aligns with FMCSA records.

  4. Your monthly fee will be automatically recalculated based on the updated number of power units.

If you’ve recently updated your FMCSA records to reflect a smaller fleet, Verified Carrier will adjust your subscription fee accordingly.

Driving Trust and Accountability Together

Our pricing approach ensures fairness while supporting a more transparent freight industry. By encouraging carriers to maintain accurate FMCSA records, we help create a trustworthy environment where everyone—from small carriers to larger fleets—can thrive.

If you have any questions or need assistance updating your subscription, our support team is here to help. Together, we can build a better, more transparent future for the freight industry.
